Is executive health coaching HSA or FSA eligible?

A direct answer: it depends on your plan and your tax situation. Here is what we provide, what your plan administrator may ask for, and who decides.

Short answer

Whether Executive Health Edge can be paid with HSA or FSA funds depends on your plan and your own tax situation. We provide itemized invoices that separate diagnostics, devices, and coaching, and a Letter of Medical Necessity can be discussed with Dr. Dubroff. Confirm eligibility with your plan administrator or tax advisor.

How it generally works

Medical care versus general wellness.

IRS rules distinguish expenses for medical care from expenses for general wellness. Plan administrators apply those rules to each claim.

Diagnostic lab testing is commonly treated as medical care. Coaching and wellness programs are commonly treated as general wellness unless a plan administrator accepts a Letter of Medical Necessity tied to a specific condition. Devices sit somewhere in between and vary by plan. None of that is a decision we make.

The program has three distinct components, diagnostics (75+ biomarker panels at month 0, 6, and 12), devices, and coaching, and the invoice separates them so your administrator can consider each on its own.

What we provide

Two things.

  1. An itemized invoice separating diagnostics, devices, and coaching. This is what most plan administrators ask for first.
  2. A conversation about a Letter of Medical Necessity. Whether one is appropriate in your case can be discussed with Dr. Dubroff. We do not promise that one will be issued, and a letter does not guarantee that your plan will accept it.

Who decides

Your plan administrator. Not us.

We do not determine eligibility, and nothing on this page is tax advice.

Before you rely on HSA or FSA funds for any part of the program, confirm with your plan administrator or tax advisor. If they need documentation beyond the itemized invoice, ask us and we will tell you whether we can provide it.

Is Executive Health Edge HSA or FSA eligible?

It depends on your plan and your own tax situation. We do not determine eligibility. What we provide is an itemized invoice that separates diagnostics, devices, and coaching, so your plan administrator can assess each component. Confirm with your plan administrator or tax advisor before relying on it.

What makes a health expense HSA or FSA eligible in general?

Under IRS rules, eligible expenses are for medical care rather than general wellness. Diagnostic lab testing is commonly treated as medical care. Coaching and wellness programs are commonly treated as general wellness unless a plan administrator accepts a Letter of Medical Necessity tied to a specific condition. How your plan applies those rules is the plan administrator's call.

What is a Letter of Medical Necessity, and can I get one?

A Letter of Medical Necessity is a physician's written statement that a service is needed for a specific medical condition. Some plan administrators require one to release funds for coaching. Whether one is appropriate in your case can be discussed with Dr. Dubroff. We do not promise that one will be issued, and issuing one does not guarantee that your plan will accept it.

What documentation does Executive Health Edge provide?

An itemized invoice separating diagnostics, devices, and coaching. That is what most plan administrators ask for first. If your administrator needs anything else, ask us and we will tell you whether we can provide it.

Which part of the program is most likely to qualify?

Diagnostic lab testing, which is what the 75+ biomarker panels at month 0, 6, and 12 are. Devices and coaching are assessed differently by different plans. The itemized invoice exists so each component can be considered on its own.

How do I pay with my HSA or FSA if my plan allows it?

Either with the HSA or FSA debit card directly, or by paying normally and submitting our invoice to your administrator for reimbursement. Your plan determines which, and whether additional documentation is needed.

Is this tax advice?

No. Eligibility rules are set by the IRS and applied by your plan administrator, and your situation may differ from another client's. Confirm the specifics with your plan administrator or tax advisor.
