Function’s clinicians add written explanations and a suggested protocol. The program’s panel is drawn at month 0, 6, and 12, and the program includes a WHOOP or Oura, a Withings scale, and a program physician for anything hormonal or pharmaceutical. If you will execute a protocol alone, Function is enough. If the last three years of results said the same thing and nothing changed, the program is the missing piece. Some men use both.
Two different products, often shopped together
Function Health and Executive Health Edge get compared because both start with a large blood panel. They end in different places.
Function Health is a membership for testing. As of September 2026 it offers 160+ lab tests drawn at least twice a year, results reviewed by clinicians who flag issues, written explanations, and a personalized protocol, for about $365 a year. Add-ons include imaging and a multi-cancer screening test. It is HSA and FSA eligible. It does not include a coach, a wearable, or anyone who follows up with you on a Tuesday.
Executive Health Edge is a twelve-month coached program for men aged 40 to 65. It draws a 75+ biomarker panel at month 0, 6, and 12, provides a WHOOP band or Oura ring and a Withings scale, assigns one dedicated coach for the full year, and puts a program physician behind the coach for anything hormonal, pharmaceutical, or lab-dependent. The coach responds to every logged workout, sends a Monday analysis report and a Friday check-in report, and rebuilds the plan against the panel and the daily data.

What Function Health does better
Breadth of testing, at a price a man can pay without thinking about it. If you want the widest possible baseline and you are disciplined enough to act on a written protocol for twelve months without accountability, Function delivers that and Executive Health Edge would be over-buying.
What Executive Health Edge does better
Everything after the results arrive. The panel is smaller because it is scoped to the markers the program can move through training, nutrition, sleep, and stress, and to the markers that explain plateaus and fatigue in men who train. The value is the year of coaching between the three draws, the daily data that shows whether the plan is working before the next panel does, and the standard that does not pause when you travel.
The honest recommendation
If you have never had a full panel, Function is a fine first step, and what to do once the results arrive is its own question. If you have had two or three panels that said “improve your lipids, lose the weight, sleep more” and none of it moved, testing is not the constraint. Follow-through is, and that is what the program is built to supply. Some clients keep a Function membership for the extra breadth and bring the results to their coach. That works.
How Executive Health Edge is structured
A 75+ biomarker panel at month 0, 6, and 12 with a written analysis and a biological age analysis after each. WHOOP or Oura, client’s choice, and a Withings scale, provided. One dedicated coach for twelve months. A program physician by written handoff. It is not primary care and it does not replace your physical.
